Bangladesh ODI skipper Mashrafee bin Mortaza said on Friday that next coach should not refrain from experimenting too much with the team.
‘’It’s not the time for us to do experiment, it’s the time to bring result. And whoever the coach comes if he does some experiment, that would not be good for Bangladesh cricket,’’ he said.
‘’Though there could be some specific areas where you might get result but where Hathura left us, and where we will be going, that is what we need to see.

‘’You cannot afford to experiment for six months and then make a change and then expect them do well in two years. So management and the board have to see. So experiment is good but make sure that Bangladesh don’t get stuck and go back,’’ he said.
Mashrafee added despite there was a media speculation former head coach Chandika Hathurusingha had nothing to do with his stepping down from Twenty20 cricket.
Former Sri Lanka cricketer Hathurusingha coached Bangladesh between May 2014 to November 2017 and when Mashrafee suddenly retired from the shortest format in 2017 it was said that Hathurusingha prompted him to take this route.
On the contrary, Mashrafee said that he enjoyed the most as a captain under Hathurusingha.
“Obviously Bangladesh is an international team and every coach has that ability and if you want me to mention one, I will name Chandika Hathurusingha,” said Mashrafe when queried which coach he had enjoyed the most as a captain.
“Many might think he was the reason I had to quit T20Is but that is not the case. Even Jamie Siddons has played a big role as a batting coach behind the success of Shakib [Al Hasan], Tamim [Iqbal], Mushfiqur [Rahim] and others,’’ he said adding the route next coach should follow.
