Bangladesh’s ODI skipper Mashrafee bin Mortaza said on Friday that he is relieved to complete his tenure on a winning note by cleanly sweeping away Zimbabwe in the three-match series in Sylhet.

As a result Mashrafee completed his journey with 50 wins from 88 matches that saw him lose 36 games while two matches did not have any result after Bangladesh defeated Zimbabwe by 123- run in the series concluding game at the Sylhet International Stadium in the rain-hit third one-day international of three-match series in Sylhet on Friday.

Mashrafee, who announced that he is stepping down from the captain’s post ahead of the last game, added that he still wish to continue his career as a cricketer.

‘’One responsibility has lessened. It was a huge responsibility. Someone feels bad, some feels good, I have a mix feeling. But I feel good that, I could complete in good position as captain. And finishing with a win makes me feels good,’’ Mashrafee told reporters at the post match press conference adding that now he can think to make it into the team on the back of his performance.

‘’I cannot say anything about selection, but so far I was carrying two part. But you have to perform as a captain. And captaincy is a hguge pressure and specially in international cricket. But when I am thinking of myself just as a player, in that sense, it is a very good decision for me. Whether I get the chance that comes next, but it will help me think as a player individually,’’ he said

‘’I hope so (to retire as a player from international game) and every player wants that. But this is not what I am concerned about. What they have done today, I was not ready for it. If I was ready then I would felt different. It’s same whether it’s[retring as player] from home or from the ground,’’ he said.
