Bangladesh ODI skipper Mashrafee bin Murtaza took the entire spotlight on his shoulder during second day of the ongoing Test match between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Thursday.

He was walking with BCB cricket operation manager Sabbir Khan towards the BCB indoor to join the national bowling coach Ottis Gibson, who was conducting a net session.

The enthusiasm among the available small crowd while he returned back to the SBNS after completing an intense bowling session was evident that they still kept him close to their heart despite he did not feature in the national color since the World Cup, as he was ruled out from the following Zimbabwe tour due to injury.

Mashrafee was taking the preparation for the upcoming ODI’s series against Zimbabwe for quite some time that is expected to be his last assignment as the skipper of the nation, considering he plays only one format of the game.

Mashrafee, the running member of the parliament, was busy preparing him through spending time at the gym along with some running session while this was the first time he bowled in front of the national pace bowling coach Ottis Gibson to make sure he is well prepared to take the toll of international cricket.

The way he bowled precisely the way he showcased his skill to hit the seam on consistent basis despite not being bowling in tandem for long just proves that for him playing cricket is just part of his life.

Mashrafee bowled in good rhythm and never looked of having any kind of injury trouble that promoted his career to be limited in shorter version cricket.

While Taskin Ahmed failed to impress Gibson with his four no balls in his seven over spell in the nets, Mashrafee looked to be in total control and at times even tried out some off-cutters while usually he was focused to bowl consistently on one area and that too by hitting the seam on his will.

‘’I did not count how many balls I bowled,’’ an exhausted Mashrafee told reporters after coming out from the session and moving straight to the BCB indoor to change his dress without elaborating any further.
