Bangladesh Test skipper Mominul Haque said on Monday that he wants to grow as a Test captain.

Mominul had quite a hectic tour in India where he was debuted as a Test captain as several issues were raised against him that includes his own performance along with handling the media.

His decision to bat in both Tests against India after winning the toss did not go well with others as well because it turned out to be suicidal.

‘’As a captain, of course, my own performance, I will try to improve it and off and on the field, there are many things. I will try to improve those,’’ Mominul told reporters at the post match press conference on Monday.

‘’Maybe leading was also not smooth, it was my first series. So this time I will try to improve.

Mominul said that he is happy with the preparation for the upcoming opening game of the two-match Test series against Pakistan as his team mates got some confidence through the Bangladesh Cricket League, country’s lone franchises based first-class tournament.

‘’Overall it was good preparation. Bowlers and batsmen… batsmen have played good innings. seniors, who played with A team, who are in Test squad,’’ said Mominul.

‘’I think they played good innings and so I think it was good preparation,’’ he said though he insisted he is not in a position to talk about not having any practice match.

Bangladesh, who will not have a practice game in Pakistan, had a similar complain during their tour of India as they did not had any practice game and skipper Mominul Haque regretted for it during that point of time.

BCB decided not stay in Pakistan for long time due to security reasons and as a result they have agreed to travel to Pakistan on three occasions with each one not exceeding their stay over seven days.

‘’This is not in my hand. Difficult, it is difficult to make comment about it. Because it is not in my hand. I cannot control it,’’ he said.

‘’Whatever I have, I will have to go with it. Like going in a war, whatever you have, you have to go with it. There is nothing you can do. We try to adjust ourselves as much as we can in that situation. So without thinking of being at back foot, it is better to go ahead with whatever you have,’’ he said.
