Sylhet Thunders batsman Mohammad Mithun said on Tuesday that they need to pull up their socks in order to stay in the Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League.
Thunders earned their first win in their last match but they could not keep the winning momentum as Dhaka Platoon handed them an eight wicket defeat at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium on Tuesday,
Thunders now need to win all the remaining five matches if they want to have any chance to progress beyond the group stage.
According to Mithun they are disappointed to lose the game despite putting up a decent total on the board as Dhaka Platoon overhauled Sylhet’s 174-4 with nine balls to spare, which handed them their fourth victory in six games.
‘’I have got nothing to say. Every time the result does not go in your favor. I think we played the match accordingly and played the whole match well,’’ said Mithun.
‘’If the result does not go in your favor than scoring runs and taking wicket does not help but if you perform and win matches than it gives you satisfaction,’’ he said, who scored unbeaten 49 runs.
‘’You cannot play according to your wishes because every time the match situation changes,’’ he said.
‘’I try to score six runs in every ball but then you have more chances to miss and if the wicket fall than your team is in trouble,’’ he said.
If you see in our squad we have few players outside of the team. We cannot change our squad very much because our team is made like that.we have a limited number of players in our squad and our reserve bench is not that strong we can try new players,’’ he said.
‘’Whoever is playing need to come and deliver,’’ he said.
