Former national pace bowler Monjurul Islam said that team management need to give time to young pace bowler Mehedi Hasan Rana to adapt and flourish as he showed lot of promise in the ongoing Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League.
Rana, who is the leading wicket-taker in the ongoing BBPL with his 13 wickets, showed lot of promise for Chattogram Challengers in the ongoing BBPL that included two man of the match awards from the seven games.
Challengers included Rana after the players draft at the insistence of the senior cricketers after they found the promising left-arm pace bowler is available as he found no buyers in the players draft table and the pacer is repaying the faith by helping his team to reach the top of the points table.

‘’We need to give Rana more opportunity to play cricket because he need to play a lot,’’ Manjurul Islam told reporters at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Saturday.
‘’If you try to mix longer version cricket with T20 than that would be foolish,’’ he said.
‘’If he can take the flavor of all the format than we can say where he stand but if you ask me to consider him only for the Twenty20 than I would say he had lot of promise,’’ he said.
‘’He is a young bowler and we need to give him time to adapt,’’ he said.
Monjurul added that it is important to back any young bowler when he is going through a flow as that will allow him to express more freely than anything else.
‘’When a young bowler is going through a flow you need to back him as that will allow him to express him but if he doesn’t receive the required it will be difficult for him,’’ he said.
