Bangladesh Cricket Board said that they are only interested to feature in the three-match Twenty20 series against Pakistan as their own backyard as they are not ready to play the Test in the upcoming tour of Pakistan.

BCB chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury informed that they have communicated their intention to their counterpart and waiting for their reply as the tourist is scheduled to visit Pakistan in January- February for the bilateral series comprising two-match Test and three-match Twenty 20 series.

PCB was waiting for a reply from their BCB counterpart as they have sent a draft schedule for a full-fledged tour as they are desperate to revive cricket at their own backyard.

According to insiders, BCB had sent their proposal and opted to make it a short tour after having a look at the security report provided by the Bangladesh Government high-level security team who visited Pakistan twice to assess the security condition there.

Bangladesh earlier sent an aged level male team and national women’s team in Pakistan, but now opted to play split series as the tourist required to stay there over one month's time.

“We are with Pakistan always in their initiative to revive the cricket there and so at this moment we want to send the national male team for three-match T20 series only,” said Nizamuddin.

‘’At this moment we want the two-match Test series to be held in a neutral venue and Pakistan can decide where they want to play,’’ he said

“Since Pakistan played in a neutral venue, we think it won’t be a problem for them to arrange the Test series in a place other than Pakistan,’’ he said.

‘’At this moment we actually can’t stay there for a longer period of time. We have already communicated them in this regard and we are still in touch with them. But still, there is no reply,” he said.

Test cricket resumed in Pakistan after a gap of 10 years as Sri Lanka became the first team to visit Pakistan for the ongoing two-match Test series.

Since the terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan cricketers in Lahore, no international team toured Pakistan but PCB was looking forward to host Bangladesh as they were confident with the resumption of Test cricket there.

Meanwhile, PCB chief executive Wasim Khan said that they had written a strong letter to the BCB asking them to outline the reasons for not wanting to play Tests in Pakistan as planned in January-February.

Wasim added that BCB would have to come up with an acceptable reason for not accepting Pakistan's invitation to play a full-fledged series.

"The BCB has informed us that they would like to play three T20I matches in Pakistan but for now they don't want to play test matches," Wasim was quoted in PTI on Wednesday.

"The ICC has accepted our security plan and arrangements but we are still in touch with the BCB officials and will sort this out,’’ he added.

Meanwhile, according to sources BCB had already prepared a draft schedule for the tour and is planning to leave Dhaka on January 21.

According to the draft Tigers will have no practice session at home as the cricketers are expected to have leisure time after completing their stint in the ongoing Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League.

The foreign coaching staff is expected to arrive before their departure but whether they will travel with the team is yet to be confirmed.

It was reported earlier that Bangladesh team’s five South African members - coach Russell Domingo, pace bowling coach Charl Langeveldt, batting consultant Neil McKenzie, fielding coach Ryan Cook and newly named physio Julian Calefato are said to have informed their intention to the BCB.

As BCB released Langeveldt now the board will sit with the four South Africans along with New Zealander Daniel Vettori, who is the spin bowling coach. along with Bangladesh's Indian analyst Shrinivaas Chandrasekaran as they have informed about their unavailability.

However, Bangladesh strength and conditioning coach Mario Villavarayan, a Sri Lankan, is not uninterested to tour Pakistan.

BCB president Nazmul Hasan recently said that they will not force anyone to tour Pakistan.
