Mashrafee emphasize on grooming youngster

Bangladesh ODI skipper Mashrafee bin Murtaza said that he feels this is the right time to groom young pace bowlers for the future and insisted that selectors need to be patient with the youngster as putting them without grooming properly can have a negative impact.

BCB is organizing the BBPL as a road map for the next ICC World Twenty20 scheduled to be played in Australia in 2020.

‘’This is our grooming time. I saw another pace bowler today, amazing. The ones we have in our squad, they all have potential. I think this is their grooming time,’’ said Mashrafee.

‘’If we can develop them with proper planning, then it will be good. It’s not like they will go into the national team and perform there right away,’’ he said.

‘’If they are groomed with enough time, they can also serve in Test as well but the planning should be long term because if they get into the national team just by playing well in a couple of matches and get thrown away from the national team after a couple of matches, that won’t be good,’’ he said.

They should be groomed with proper guidelines and I think then they will serve for a long period of time,’’ he said adding that he is expecting a full house in the BBPL as he feels it will inspire the youngster to perform even better.

‘’Audiences are the soul of cricket. It is more exciting to watch the game when audiences come to watch. We played first time in Chattogram in this BPL. There are still some matches and I feel audiences may increase,’’ he said.
