Mahmuddullah Riyad and Lendl Simmons half-centuries helped Chattogram score 221 runs against Dhaka Platoon at t Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram in the 12th match of this year’s Bangabandhu Bangladesh premier league.
Chattogram openers started brilliantly in front of their home crowds. Simmon and Avishka Fernando shared a 51 runs partnership in only 28 balls before Fernando was bowled by Hasan Mahmud.
Imrul also shared a 50 run partnership with Simmons.Simmons was run out for 57 runs stabbing five four and four sixes in his innings. Imrul was in murmuring mood scoring 40 runs off 24 balls by hitting five fours and one sixes.
Mahmudullah played the most stylish innings for the challengers scoring 59 runs off 28 delivers stabbing five fours and four sixes with a strike rate of above 210.
Dhaka bowlers had a very tough day in the field. Hasan Mahmud took 2 wickets for 55 runs and left-arm medium pace bowler Saluaddin Sakil took one wicket.
