Real Impact 32-camera set-up director Tim Finlay said that Bangladesh is doing world standard coverage in the ongoing Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League.
To provide world-class coverage Real Impact using Spidercam, Hawkeye, Drone, two way Stump cam, Umpire cam, UltraMotion Cameras.
The broadcaster is also using a new look of Graphics while they have introduced a virtual screen.
‘’Bangladesh is now doing world standard coverage of cricket,’’ said the Australian adding that he is quite comfortable with the set-up as he is involved with them for almost 10 years.
‘’Because of working with these guys for 10 years by now, I know how they work and they know how I work. So everything is basically just set up for me. And all I do, our job is to tell the story. So if we are involved in it and have a passion for it then I think you can tell the story. ‘’We tell a visual story, in a conjunction with the commentators. So if you are into the score, into the batsman, into the crowd, my job is easy,’’ he said.
‘’They say Twenty20 is pretty quick, but when you are doing two matches a day, it is not really quick. If you love it, then it is easier to do,’’ he said adding that spider cam is the ultimate of modern technology.
‘’No, well, I don’t think anybody could imagine how technology helped everybody. But we are recording an interview with a mobile phone. When I was in channel 9, they did not invent stamp camps. So technology helped business unbelievably. One of the first trip that I did here when things used to be in the bag, and they drive it here from India to Bangladesh and they spend a day and half putting it all together because of the standard d of the road, before you can even operate it. So now everything now go into boxes and gets transported in a truck or in an airplane. Technology helped us majorly,’’ he said.
‘’Probably that demand helped us to develop the technology. Because everybody driving to come up with the next big thing but I never thought I would be covering a cricket match with a drone. And probably the ultimate of technology, spider cam. I would have to say spider cam has been the best invention ever for sports coverage. It gives you such an unreal view flying around. It can go from ground level to 80 feet, in two and half seconds. So that gives you a view an unbelievable perspective of the game,’’ he said.
