Dhaka Platoon, one of the seven members of the Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League, is losing their sleep over the availability of opener Tamim Iqbal due to illness.
The left-handed opener is having severe fever and did not travel with the team to Chattogram where the second phase of BBPL is scheduled to start from December 17.
All the teams are currently staying in the port city to prepare for the Chattogram phase.

Tamim is having viral fever and he will not be going to Chittagong today,’’ BCB chief physician Debashish Chowdhury told Cricfrenzy on Monday.
‘’He will be staying in the hospital and we can only tell you about his updates after assessing his condition tomorrow,’’ he said.
Tamim also sustained groin injury on his right leg during the match against Sylhet Thunder but according to Dhaka Platoon head coach Mohammad Salahuddin they are not worried about it as it did not appear to be very serious.
‘’I don’t think the groin injury is very serious,’’ said Salahuddin.
‘’He did not travel with the team as he was having severe fever and we can only have a clear picture about him after getting the medical report in our hand,’’ he said.
Though Tamim made just five runs in the first match of the BBPL against Rajshahi Royals the left-handed opener shrugged off his prolonged lean patch with a dazzling 74 runs knock againt Cumilla Warriors.
Tamim followed that with 31 runs against Sylhet Thunders and though he failed to score another half-cenruty it had everything that suggested he is regaining his form.
From the very beginning of the BBBL and even before that Tamim was keeping no stone unturned as far as his preparation is concerned as he spent hours together in the nets trying to minimize his short comings.
