Players, coaches expressed their satisfaction with the Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League wickets at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium as they feel it suits Twenty20 cricket.
Wickets had always been a major concern in the previous editions of BPL due to the way it behaved that forced the batsmen to go into the shell as it was not perfectly suited stroke making.
However, things are quite different this time round as most of the matches are high scoring at SBNS with batsmen dominating the scene with their free flow shot making ability.
if I knew Dhaka wicket will behave in this manner than I would have formed my squad differently,’’ Dhaka Platoon coach Salahuddin told reporters at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Friday.
‘’I am very surprised and they deserve lot of credit for it as we are playing T 20 cricket in this type of wicket where good runs are scored,’’ he said.

‘’We did not play in this type of wicket for long time,’’ he said adding that local batsmen need to make the most out of it in the ongoing BBPL.
I think local players have to score most of the runs as it easy to score runs in this type of wicket.
‘’In the first two matches local players scored good runs and I think in Sylhet they will score good,’’ he said.
‘’They [local] have scored against good bowling and this will help our batsman to play more shots,’’ he said.
‘’We used to think if the ball would reach the boundary or not earlier but that is not the case now,’’ he said.
‘’Liton[Das] is batting very sensibly and he batted according to wicket condition or say Imrul and Mithun batted well as they are playing according to the requirement,’’ he said.
‘’Our local players batted well here and I think they will get more confidence if they can adjust to these type of wicket and I hope it will help them to increase their range of shots,’’ he said.
Rangpur Rangers left-arm spinner Arafat Sunny echoed the same sentiment adding that he is also quite surprised with the way the wicket is behaving.
‘’This wicket is very good and suitable for Twenty20 cricket,’’ said Arafat.
‘’I think we haven’t played in this kind of wicket for a long time,’’ he added.
