Bangladesh selector Habibul Bashar said on Thursday that they are concerned with the form of Mustafizur Rahman as he is becoming too predictable in the recent past.
Mustafizur, who looked good in the first couple of overs, was demolished by Cumilla Warriors skipper Danus Shanaka in the death as he hit him for a four-six in an over that literally got the game away from their[ Rangpur Rangers] grip.
Mustafizur is hardly meeting up the expectation in the international front as well as in the recently-concluded three-match T20I series against India he fell short of expectations, looking a shadow of the bowler who debuted in 2015 and could win games for Bangladesh single-handedly.
Mustafizur ended the three-match series without any wicket, giving away 92 runs from 9.4 overs with an economy rate of 9.51.

And this India tour isn't a one-off. He's been struggling for a while. In his last 10 T20Is, he's picked only nine wickets in 33.4 overs, conceding 315 runs at an economy rate of 9.35.
According to Habibul, the pace bowler is failing to perform considering he is not having the yorkers that he used to master earlier.
‘’ It is a concern because we are missing the Mustafizur for the past one year,’’ Habibul Bashar told reporters at the
‘’There is no yorker in Mustafizur bowling while he had wonderful yorkers before,’’ he said.
‘’Slower deliveries are still there while his pace is also increasing. Now he is bowling in good pace. (But) yorker is missing. He is becoming predictable. This is my concern. I remember that. Batsmen are able to predict what is he is going to do,’’ he said.
Habibul added that it is high time for the left-arm pace bowler to make plans so that he can make a comeback.
‘’I think he should think. The batsmen and the bowlers think after the match that what is happening. It is high time that, he should think about the batsmen predicting or should he go into the second plan,’’ said Habibul.
‘’Maybe the coach will instruct him, but the player should also need to understand that how he needs to bowl. Yesterday, he bowled wonderfully in first two overs. In the last two overs, he was much predictable. He bowled in the same length and got beaten. This had to happen. Shanaka is an excellent batsman in T20. Mustafizur was not trying to do something different,’’ he concluded.
