Young all-rounder Afif Hossain said on Wednesday that he is eyeing not to make the mistake that he committed in the last edition of Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League and looking forward to cementing his place by making some noteworthy performance in the tournament.
Afif, who is considered a potential candidate to serve the nation for a long time in the shorter format, will feature for Rajshshahi Royals in the ongoing BBPL.
Royals will start their campaign against Dhaka Platoons at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Tuesday.
‘’I will try to give my best in every match so that i could perform well match by match, The mistakes that I have made in last BPL events, i will try not to repeat that and perform better,’’ Afif told reporters at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Tuesday.

Afif said that they got to pick the momentum at the right time to progress in the tournament as losing the momentum will only force them to lag behind in the competition.
‘’Momentum of a tournament is an important thing. If we are able to start first, it goes well,’’ said Afif.
‘’Overall our team is in good condition and we are happy to practice all together,’’ he said who joined the Royals camp after completing his stint with the Under-23 team who won the gold in the SA Games.
Afif said that he is eyeing to get most from their skipper Andre Russell and added that he is keen to learn power hitting from the big West Indian.
‘’We have got such a big player as our captain, we are so lucky. We are able to share the dressing room with him. We will try to learn these from him and try to win the series through him,’’ said Afif.
‘’It’s not easy to hit powerful shots like him. I will try to adopt the techniques that he follows,’’ he said.
‘’I cannot hit like him, I am different and he is different. I will try to learn the technique that he uses and adopt it to use it my way,’’ he concluded.
