Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir, who will be taking part in the new edition of Bangladesh Premier League for Khulna Tigers said the newly modified structure of BPL will be positive for Bangladesh cricket.
I think it’s a big plus point because cricket board (is doing everything). I think this is a good sign for Bangladesh cricket” Amir told reporters at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Monday.
Due to having some conflict of interests between BPL Governing Council and all other franchises, Bangladesh Cricket Board decided to run this edition of the BPL themselves without taking any franchises

The Board wants to mark the occasion of the 100th birth anniversary of Bangabandhu, the father of Nationa Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and to pay homage to him and consequently, the tournament was named as Bangabandhu BPL after him.
The names of the teams have changed with the arrival of sponsors for each seven teams and the responsibility to manage the team will be on the BCB. The players’ transportation and accommodation will be managed by the board as per announced
Amir said, with having the similar structure followed in Pakistan Super League (PSL) T20 tournament, which started three years later the Bangladeshi version of T20 format tournament, things have no complication in their league as he also praised the contract policy of this new edition of BPL
“If you look at PCL, because the cricket board is doing everything, we don’t have any problem always. The big difference is this- the cricket board is, the contract the timing” said Amir, who arrived on Sunday to join the Khulna camp
Amir, who has 18 wickets, in BPL so far, eyes to become the top wicket-taker of the tournament in terms of individual goal but hopes perform well in the tourmanrt.
“Individual goal as a bowler, I want to be the top wicket-taker in the tournament,” Amir told.
“Hope we serve the team, Khulna Tiger. We have very good players, especially local players. And I hope we do very well in the tournament” he concluded.
