Umpire unhappy with BBPL match fee

The leading umpires of the country have met with BCB officials to increase their match fee in the upcoming Bangabandhu Bangladesh premier league (BBPL) with a demand to increase their match fee.
The umpire claimed that they should be paid equally to foreign umpire or at least come close to their fees. In October when the player's strike was taken place, umpires match fee demand was raised by the players and BCB president Nzamul Hasan Papon has given words to increase it.

Umpire association chairman Saiful Alam Shawpan told a leading Bangla newspaper Samakal
‘’We have heard that the umpire fee will be increased but still did not know the exact amount. The umpire is angry with this situation and they cannot rely on BCB words as the experience that got in the past,'' he said.
The umpire made an annual demand to increase their match fee but BCB officials didn’t pay heed to it despite giving words.
According to sources, local umpire used to get TK.13,400 for every BPL matches while foreign umpire gets $500 (TK. 42500 approximately) for their matches. Foreign umpire in this year’s BPL is relatively new to international cricket but experiences local umpire do not get half of their remuneration.
The local umpire also questions the choice of foreign umpires in this year’s BBPL. England Alex Wharf and Sri Lanka umpire Prageeth Rambukwella has been appointed as foreign umpire but they have got only 20 international match experiences.
