The Bangladesh Cricket Board handed 21 sports grade wheelchairs to the members of the Bangladesh Wheel Chair cricket team on Tuesday.
The BCB responded to a request from the Centre for Research and Information (CRI) for providing specially modified wheelchairs to the Bangladesh Wheelchair Cricketers Association.

‘’One thing they needed was a wheel-chair. The type of wheel-chair used in sports and with the one they play- the difference is huge. We are trying to work on. We tried with England but they don’t make it anymore,’’ Nazmul told reporters on Tuesday.
‘’Individual’s weight is important in wheelchair and they chose it and said it will serve their purpose. That’s why we brought these wheel-chairs and we are giving them 21 wheel-chairs today,’’ he said.
A number of wheelchair cricketers, who have experienced considerable successes in international wheelchair cricket competitions and BCB and CRI officials were present during the hand over programme at the BCB Management Office in Mirpur.
Mohsin, who is the skipper of the Bangladesh wheelchair cricket team said that they are expecting to perform better with the new wheelchair.
‘’In the past, we have seen with this kind of wheelchair other teams picked three runs while we had to satisfied with one run because our wheelchair didn't support us in running fast between the wickets,’’ said Mohsin.
