Former national opener Anamul Haque said on Sunday that he is eyeing to make a comeback in the national set-up by performing well in the Bangabandhu National Premier League.

Bangladesh team management already stated that they will be keeping a close eye on the BBPL as they are looking forward to make a T20 squad for the upcoming ICC World T20.

Anamul insisted that he wants to take this chance to lament his place in the national team and added that he is eyeing to have a strike-rate over 140 runs to make sure Dhaka Platoon is always ahead in the race.

‘’Players have their own plans. How he will play, how well he can play, how much he can contribute for the team. Of course the players will have their plan, I also have some plans- how to contribute for the team. Actually, a wonderful chapter started with the national team through BPL. I think, with good performance I can prepare myself for the T20 World Cup, it’s a very good platform for me,’’ Anamul told reporters at the academy premises on Saturday.

‘’Not only for me, it’s a very good platform for every player. And it excites me the most because I could contribute for three champion teams out for five or six tournaments that have played. So I think BPL is a wonder platform for me to perform. I hope there will be no difference this season. I will try to perform better this time.  I will try to keep the strike rate 140 for the team to win,’’ he said adding that there is also some pressure to perform due to the hype of BBPL.

‘’Yes there is some pressure as a player. Everyone talks around. Everyone expects (me) to play well. I also have some plans. When I am not able to be successful, then the pressure comes. I will try to play with excitement. We have Mashrafe bhai, won two times with Gladiator. Then won for Comilla with Tamim bhai. We have champion teammates. So, I hope it will go with excitement. And if I can enjoy that in the field and give my hundred percent then I think this BPL will be memorable for me,’’ he said.

Anamul said that he is confident that Dhaka Platoons can go a long way in the tournament considering the strength of their squad.

‘’I think Dhaka has made a very good team. We have best opener of our country Tamim Iqbal. We have Test captain Mominul, a leader like Mashrafe. We have a coach like Salahudddin. Afridi and Wahaz Riaz. I think we have very good team. We have domestic level performers like- Raqibul, Arif. So I think this is a very good team where we can play with comfortably for the team like the team wants. So I think Dhaka has made a team like Dhaka. Everyone has different affection for Dhaka,’’ said Anamul.

‘’I think as a team we are in a very good condition. And we have started practicing very early because of that excitement. And I hope we will get our all players early. And then we can start the practice very well,’’ he said adding that they cannot lose the momentum at any point of time.
