As Khaled Mahmud Sujon expressed his desire to give up director position if he is given the national team’s coaching role for longer period, the issue of local coaches came to the fore once again.

BCB CEO said that it’s a good sign that local coaches are interested about the head coach post of Bangladesh.

“Of Course, it has a positive side. The good coaches we have, it’s a big opportunity for them to work for the national team. It provides them an opportunity to work with famous foreign coaches. It's a good opportunity,” Chowdhury opined.

Bangladesh team never had full-time head coach for the national team. Although many of the top class team in the World has kept their trust in the local coaches rather than foreigner coaches. Like, India, Sri Lanka, Australia, New Zealand etc. But Nizamuddin Chowdhury said it’s a possibility that local coach can also be the head coach of the national team if the team demands that.

“We do this work as per practical demand. Not only coach, we also had a physio on full-time basis without any foreign physio. The thing that happens with us is that this practice will be with us in the future,” Chowdhury added.
