Bangladesh will take on West Indies on Monday as they eye to secure their spot in the spot for a place in the ongoing tri-nation final in Ireland.
A win for Tigers will secure the spot for Tigers with one game in hand as they are going to earn at least 10 points from three matches while West Indies will finish of their group-phase campaign with nine points.
But a loss might put them into tricky situation as there they will have to beat Ireland in their last game to secure their berth in the final as a loss against the Irish might cost them dearly if run-rate comes into consideration.
This is the second time both the team will lock horns in the ongoing tri-nation and This match will take place on the Malahide cricket stadium in Dublin. at 3.45 pm (BD Time).
In their first meeting Bangladesh cruised over the West Indies pretty easily, they secured 8 wickets win. After that Bangladesh’s next match against Ireland was abandoned due to heavy rain fall, points were divided in this match.

On the other hand West Indies have already secured their place in the final. They have beaten Ireland twice in this tri nation series. In their first match West Indies won by 196 runs and in their second match West Indies beat Ireland by 5 wickets. Their wicket keeper batsman Shai Hope and his partner Sunil Ambrose are in tremendous from. Shai Hope has already scored two hundreds in this series; Sunil Ambris scored a century against Ireland in their last match. Another centurion Campbell is out of the squad because of injury.
But Bangladesh will be pretty confident before going into this match. Because in their previous encounter Bangladesh dominated West Indies in both Bat and Bowl. Tamim, Soumya, Shakib all scored half centuries in that match.
Mashrafe,Miraz and Shakib bowled really well to keep west Indies below 300 while Mehedi also played his part by bowling at tight line and length to tie down the batsmen.
Bangladesh will look forward to replicate that sorts of performance once again while MehedI Hasan said that he in particular want to cement his place for the World Cup by performing consistently for Tigers/
“Why is the Bangladesh team so strong in ODIs now? Because the core players have strengthened their position in the team by playing for a long time. They have taken themselves to a place and the team has benefitted from that,’’ said Mehedy.
‘’I also want to go to that place. If I do something else without strengthening my position, I may have to lose my place. I want to fix my place (in the team). I want people to say that Miraz is indispensable for both the ODI and the Test team,’’ he said adding that he is ready to sit in the bench if that serves the purpose of the team.
“A lot of things can happen for team combination. We play for the team. If I have to sit on the bench for team combination, I have no problems with that. Whenever I get the chance, I’ll try to do something good. This (tri-nation) tournament is very important for us. If we can play well here, It’ll be great for both me and the team to go to the World Cup with great preparation,’’ he said.
“I want to give my hundred percent for the team. The team wants me to play a role. I want to accomplish my role in the team’s bowling. If the team wants 15-20 runs from me, I want to do that. My thoughts are set on how I can benefit my team. I will try to do that,’’ he added
The pitch will be good for batting with a bit of swing available for the pacers. Weather forecast says the sky will remain sunny tomorrow in Dublin and there is no possibility of rain till now. So, we all can expect a good game of cricket tomorrow.
