Next Asia Cup host country is Pakistan: ACC President

Pakistan will host the next Asia Cup to be held in 2020 as the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) disclosed it after an executive board meeting in a hotel in the capital on Thursday.
“It is Pakistan, the host country. So, they will decide where it will be held,” said ACC president Nazmul Hassan Papon, who has taken over the ACC presidency in last November.
The board meeting also approved its operational budget and the matters arising out of the last board meeting.
All the top administrators of the Asian cricket gathered to take more initiative aiming to development of the Asian cricket and decided to get together most often.

“Development of the Asian cricket is our prime concern and we decided to meet most often with development committee chairman to discuss how we can move forward Asian cricket,” added Papon, also Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president.
ACC will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the International Cricket Council (ICC) soon to renew the funding system with a bit of change.
“Earlier, ICC provided fund first and we arranged events depending on that. But now, there is a bit change, we will arrange event and ICC will provide fund according to our budget plan,” the BCB boss continued.
The another thing is ACC will shift its head quarter to Dubai,UAE, from Colombo within the next one or two months, the meting decided.
The meeting approved a big numbers of tournaments with a view to provide scope for Asian non Test playing nations, alongside Test playing countries, and discussed about their probable activities for 2019-2020 tenure.
”We approved many tournaments for Asian nations so that non Test playing nations can get more chances, besides Test playing nations, to play and produce talented players,” said Paon.
To provide more opportunity to women cricket, the committee is thinking to arrange additional tournaments for Asian women.
Emphasizing on development, the meeting reviewed ACC previous activities and also approved committees for financial and marketing, commercial and game development among other agendas.
Among other dignitaries, ACB president Azziullah Fazale, PCB president Ehsan Mani, SLC president Kamal Pathmasiri, BCCI Secretary Amitabh, Choudhary and BCB CEO Nizam Uddin Chowdhury were present at the press conference.
