Barisal fight back against Rajshahi

Barisal Division mounted a strong comeback after a disgraceful batting performance in the first innings of their Tier 1 clash against Rajshahi Division in the National Cricket League.
Barisal were all-out for 97 runs before bundling out Rajshahi for 160 runs in the first innings. Starting the second day’s play at 124/6 Rajshahi saw Barisal spinner Monir Hossain wipe out their tail by claiming a hat-trick to complete his fifer.
Coming on to bat in their second innings, Barisal posted 246 runs, losing six wickets, when the stumps were drawn. A 97-run knock from Al-Amin has been the highlight of their innings so far. He shared a partnership of 128 runs with Nuruzzaman before getting out by Sabbir Rahman.
Nuruzzaman made 45 runs and became the third scalp of Mohor Sheikh in this innings. Sunzamul Islam and Mukhtar Ali have also taken a wicket each for Rajshahi so far.

At the end of day two, Barisal earned a 183-run lead over the table-toppers – Rajshahi, who have won one and drawn four matches so far in the tournament.
Barisal are currently third in the Tier 1 points table. They lost one match against Rangpur Division and were part of three drawn matches. Their fifth round clash against Khulna Division was abandoned due to rain.
