After suffering back-to-back defeats in the National Cricket League, Dhaka Metropolis finished the first day of their Tier 2 clash against Chittagong on a positive note thanks to a brilliant century from their skipper Marshall Ayub.
Dhaka Metro posted 265 runs on day-1, losing five of their wickets after choosing to bat first. Mohammad Ashraful again failed to shine with the bat as he was out scoring just 9 runs. The right-hander has so far scored 210 runs in nine innings in the tournament.
Nayeem Hasan took two scalps in this innings, taking his tally of wickets to 25 in the tournament so far. Dhaka Metro’s Arafat Sunny is currently second in the wicket-taking charts with 23 wickets to his name and this match is likely to see a good contest between the two.

Shakhawat Hossain also bagged two wickets for Chittagong while Irfan Hossain picked up one.
Ayub finished the first day unbeaten on 110 runs. Zabid Hossain is also not out on 30 runs and will resume the innings with the centurion on the second day of the sixth and final round.
Both Dhaka Metro and Chittagong Division have won one game in the competition so far and are at the second and the third position, respectively, in the Tier 2 points table. Chittagong suffered one defeat and three of their games ended in a stalemate while Dhaka Metro was part of two drawn matches.
