Bangladesh all-rounder Mahmudullah Riyad confirmed that he has been playing through injuries since July this year. According to the Bangladesh Test and T20I vice-captain, he suffered a strain on his back muscles during the conditioning camp before Bangladesh’s tour of West Indies and he now has a rib pain.
“During the West Indies series, I had a back muscle straun. I played in the CPL (Caribbean Premier League) with that,” Mahmudullah said at a fan event on Saturday (October 6).
“When I went to Asia Cup, there were still a few problems. There will be injuries, [we] have to play through them. But the injuries become worse with each passing game.

“Now I'm taking a break for some time. Hopefully, I will soon come back with zest.”
All Bangladesh’s core-group players have been suffering various injuries. Shakib Al Hasan will be out of action for the longest period of time from among these cricketers. He will undergo a reoperation on his injured finger as soon as the infection on it gets cured.
Tamim Iqbal will also be sidelined for a few weeks due to his wrist injury.
Mushfiqur Rahim picked a rib injury during the Asia Cup and Mashrafe Mortaza also injured his finger during that tournament.
