Shakib al Hasan is all set to take part in the Asia Cup as he is ready to play even if that requires him to perform with some discomfort, confirmed Bangladesh Cricket Board [BCB] sources on Wednesday.
Shakib returned to Dhaka on Wednesday and revealed he is ready to perform to some of his close ones although he hasn’t made any official announcement.
The time off to perform Hajj is said to have done magic for the prolific all-rounder of the world, as it allowed him enough time to heal the wound at least for the time being.

“The time off from cricket bought up some comfort on his little finger and he has already expressed his desire to play the Asia Cup.
“Earlier he was not willing to play competitive cricket with even the slightest discomfort,” said an official on condition of anonymity.
Selectors said that they are confident they will get the service of the Shakib in Asia Cup though they cannot make any final call yet, as he is expected to sit with BCB officials soon.
“As of now, we haven’t gotten any bad news regarding him. Even our doctors didn’t say that he can’t be the part of the team. So we still are expecting him in the team,” said BCB chief executive Minhajul Abedin.
“We’ll have a meeting tomorrow and we’ll contact every stakeholder to get the latest update of every player after which we’ll prepare the team,” he added.
Soon after his return, BCB's medical team will do a fresh scan on his troublesome finger and send it to Australian orthopedic surgeon Dr. Greg Hoy but it will be Shakib and BCB president Nazmul Hassan who will take the final decision about the timing of the surgery.
The Asia Cup will begin on September 15, with the Tigers leaving the country for UAE on September 9.
