The Bangladesh Cricket Board [BCB] revealed that they will decide the future of the spin-bowling coach Sunil Joshi after the end of Asia Cup. Sunil was appointed to take up the role on a one-year deal during August last year. His contract will end after the Asia Cup.
“The current spin coach's contract is till the end of September, which means up to the Asia Cup. The board's policy will decide on the spin coach,” BCB chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury told reporters at Mirpur, on Sunday (August 26).

“We will make a move as soon as we get a directive,” he said.
BCB had gone all out in search of a spin consultant since the post went vacant following the sacking of Ruwan Kalpage in August 2016. BCB even tried to include Stuart MacGill in their coaching setup but when the former Australia leg-spinner declined to take up the role due to illness, the board turned towards Joshi after his name was proposed by the then Indian head coach Anil Kumble.
Joshi, who has played 15 Tests and 69 ODIs for India, was the Man of the Match in Bangladesh's first ever Test in 2000. He had scored 92 in his only innings and bagged eight wickets in the match, including a fifer.
Bangladesh will begin their preparations from August 27 for the upcoming Asia Cup. They will take on Sri Lanka in the tournament opener on September 15.
