Shakib Al Hasan thinks it will be difficult without Mustafizur

Bangladesh Test and T20I captain Shakib Al Hasan spoke ahead of the T20I series against Afghanistan in Dehradun. The Tigers will lock horns against the Afghans on the 3rd of June in a series spanning for three games.
Meanwhile, Shakib Al Hasan states that winning is the main objective and he wants to take control of the momentum by beating Afghanistan in the very first game that they play.
‘The objective is to win, obviously. Everyone wants to play to win. Our target is to focus match-by-match. The first match is important. If we start well and the momentum is on our side, then the rest of the two matches will be easier for us.’

Bangladesh will be without Mustafizur Rahman after the left-handed pacer fell prey to a toe-injury during Mumbai Indians’ last league game against Delhi Daredevils. It happened when he tried to stop a Rishabh Pant shot with his leg while following through after delivering a ball.
In the end, he fractured his toe by a hairline and subsequently has to miss the Afghanistan series in Dehradun – and Shakib thinks that it will be a difficult loss for the team.
‘We don’t have our best T20 bowler [Mustafizur Rahman] with us, so it will be difficult for us. But this is a good opportunity for the other bowlers.’
Bangladesh are currently two places below Afghanistan in the T20I rankings and will be hoping to close the gap by winning this series.
