Kevin Pietersen is reluctant to go to Pakistan even if his team qualifies for the knockouts. After a match-winning knock of 48 runs against Islamabad United on Wednesday, he revealed that he will not be playing in the Pakistan leg of the tournament which includes two knockouts and the final match of the league.

The 37-year-old had also not featured in the Lahore final of PSL 2. He will be retiring from all forms of cricket after the ongoing season of PSL.

While the English batsman refused to go to Pakistan, the likes of Kumar Sangakkara, Liam Dawson, JP Duminy, Darren Sammy, Shane Watson, Andre Fletcher, Carlos Brathwaite, Imran Tahir, Luke Ronchi, Colin Ingram, Colin Munro, Darren Bravo, Sam Billings, Tamim Iqbal, and David Wiese have agreed to go to Pakistan if their respective teams qualify for the next round.

KP’s team, Quetta Gladiator are standing second in the points table after settling two wins in three matches. If the team finishes in the top four, they’ll be going to Pakistan for the next round and will surely miss one of their most prolific batsmen.
