Fast bowler Mohammad Saifuddin and Ripon Mondol have been left out of the squad from the previous series. They have been replaced by pace duo Nahid Rana and Taskin Ahmed, both of whom return after missing the recent New Zealand series.
In a key leadership change, Saif Hassan has stepped down as T20I vice-captain. The position has now been handed to Towhid Hridoy.
The squad was announced at a press conference on Thursday by the chief selector, who noted that there were no major surprises in the final selection, with most regular T20 players retained.
Nahid Rana and Taskin Ahmed were not part of the squad for the New Zealand series, where Ripon Mondol, Abdul Gaffar Saqlain, and Mohammad Saifuddin were included instead.
With the return of Nahid and Taskin, Ripon has been left out, while Saqlain retains his place. Tanzeem Hasan Sakib, who was initially in the New Zealand squad, misses out due to injury.
Chief selector Habibul Bashar Suman confirmed that Saif Hassan himself requested to step down from the vice-captaincy role, a request the management accepted.
The three-match T20I series against Australia will be played in Chattogram on June 17, 19, and 21.
