The match, which concluded inside four days despite significant rain interruptions on Day Three, was dominated by the bowlers.
A total of 16 wickets fell on the opening day, while another 17 wickets tumbled on Day Two as batters from both sides struggled to cope with the conditions.
Following a review of the surface, the ICC awarded Lord’s one demerit point.
In his report, match referee Andy Pycroft cited excessive assistance for seam bowlers and inconsistent bounce throughout the contest.
“There was plenty of excessive seam movement throughout the Test and the ball also kept extremely low on several occasions,” Pycroft said.
“The bounce was variable throughout as 16 wickets fell on the first day and 17 on the second. There was simply an over-balance in favour of ball against bat caused by the pitch.”
Another pitch that received an 'unsatisfactory' rating was Pakistan's Gaddafi Stadium, which hosted the third ODI between Australia and Pakistan.
