The left-hander was included in a 15-member squad announced by Cricket West Indies on Monday, with captain Shai Hope set to lead the side in all three matches at Sabina Park in Jamaica from June 3 to June 8.
Hetmyer returns to the ODI setup after more than a year. His last appearance in the format came against England in June 2025, before he missed subsequent series against Pakistan, Bangladesh and New Zealand.
The 29-year-old forced his way back into contention with a superb T20 World Cup campaign, scoring 248 runs at an average of 41.33 and a strike rate of 186.46. He also set a tournament record by smashing 19 sixes as West Indies reached the Super 8 stage.
Cricket West Indies confirmed that Hetmyer will join the squad ahead of the third and final ODI of the series.
The squad also welcomes back fast bowler Alzarri Joseph, who returns to ODI cricket for the first time since Australia's tour of the Caribbean last year after recovering from a back injury. Spinner Gudakesh Motie is also back after missing the tour of New Zealand.
The three-match ODI series will be played entirely at Sabina Park in Jamaica, with matches scheduled for June 3, 6 and 8.
