After being put in to bat, Bangladesh got off to a modest start.
Saif Hassan struck a quick 16, but early wickets dented momentum. Tanzid Hasan Tamim struggled for fluency, while Parvez Hossain Emon fell for a duck.
Captain Litton Das played a brisk knock of 26 off 17 balls, including three fours and a six, to steady the innings briefly.
The main resistance came from Towhid Hridoy, who top-scored with 33 off 24 balls, hitting three boundaries and two sixes.
However, Bangladesh suffered a dramatic collapse in the latter stages, losing six wickets for just 37 runs in the last five overs. Contributions from the lower order were minimal, with only Mahedi Hasan remaining unbeaten on 7.
New Zealand’s bowlers maintained control throughout the innings. Josh Clarkson was the standout performer, claiming 3 wickets for just 9 runs.
Nathan Smith and Ben Sears picked up two wickets each, while Ish Sodhi and Jayden Lennox chipped in with one apiece.
