Speaking to the media ahead of the last fixture against Ireland, Tait said, “I don’t want to overcomplicate things. We just want to play good cricket and win the match. Winning international games always boosts confidence. We must carry forward the confidence from the last match. Hopefully, we will win tomorrow as well.”
Tait viewed Ireland’s spirited performance throughout the series as a positive challenge for Bangladesh.
“Ireland have played well; they have good players and are a well-structured T20 side. This is the kind of challenge we wanted before the World Cup. These tests will make us more prepared,” he said.
The Australian coach is confident about the team’s World Cup preparation.
“Whether it’s Ireland, Australia, or West Indies, we must play good cricket. We will try to give our best tomorrow. There are preparation matches before the World Cup, and that will help even more,” Tait noted.
Speaking about Taskin Ahmed’s influence on the pace attack, Tait said, “I’ve seen Taskin play T10. I have a great relationship with him. He is important for us—he’s a senior player and a good leader. We communicate regularly.”
Tait believes Bangladesh currently have an impressive pool of fast bowlers.
“It’s a good sign that we have to pick only a few from many quality fast bowlers. Perhaps for the first time, Bangladesh cricket has such competition. Every bowler knows how tough the contest is, and that makes everyone better,” he said.
