Batting first, Zimbabwe posted a competitive 162/8 in their 20 overs, led by superb contributions from Brian Bennett (49 off 42) and skipper Sikandar Raza (47 off 32).
Both kept the innings steady with well-timed boundaries and ensured Zimbabwe maintained a healthy run rate throughout. Ryan Burl chipped in with a brisk 18 off 11, while late cameos from Musekiwa and Maposa added valuable runs.
Sri Lanka’s bowlers had mixed success, with Wanindu Hasaranga picking up 3 for 32, while Eshan Malinga and Dushmantha Chameera claimed two and one respectively.
Chasing 163, Sri Lanka never found momentum as Zimbabwe’s bowlers struck early and consistently. Richard Ngarava set the tone with a wicket in the opening over, finishing with 2 for 15.
Brad Evans delivered a match-winning spell, grabbing 3 for 9 in four overs, completely dismantling Sri Lanka’s middle and lower order.
Captain Dasun Shanaka provided the only meaningful resistance with 34 off 25, but with no other batter crossing 12, Sri Lanka were bundled out for 95 in their 20 overs.
Zimbabwe’s dominant win boosts their confidence significantly as the tri-series progresses.
