The veteran batsman made the moment even more special by dedicating it to his grandparents, whose love and encouragement he credits for his long and successful career.
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, following the second day of the Bangladesh-Ireland Test in Mirpur, Mushfiqur reflected on the journey that had taken him to this historic milestone.

When asked about the dedication of his century, Mushfiqur became emotional, saying, "[Dedicating it] to my grandparents and maternal grandparents. Because they were actually my biggest fans when they were alive. And even when they passed away, and even when they were a little sick before that, I still remember, my grandparents and maternal grandparents, said that, Bhai, I want to live a few more days just to watch your game. Which is something I mean, very few grandsons or granddaughters are lucky enough to have this,"
The 100th Test is not only a testament to Mushfiqur’s dedication and hard work but also holds special significance due to the lively atmosphere in Mirpur over the past two days. He emphasized that the achievement was possible because of his grandparents’ blessings.
“There are many people who have supported me, but to make this moment special, I want to dedicate it to these four,” he added.
Mushfiqur also acknowledged the sacrifices of his wife, highlighting the disciplined lifestyle that enabled his success.

“I follow the same practice routine every day, whether it’s gym, field, or nets. I am a boring person, but I am honest about my training. The biggest support behind my journey has been my wife. Without a peaceful home environment, none of this would have been possible,” he said.
Bangladesh football star Hamza Chowdhury had sent a congratulatory message to Mushfiqur on his 100th Test.
Mushfiqur expressed his gratitude, saying, “Yes, I saw it yesterday morning on my manager’s phone. It was a wonderful surprise, and if I ever meet him in person, I will definitely thank him.”
