Pakistan sealed the three-match ODI series 2–1 after a commanding seven-wicket victory over South Africa in the third and final ODI at Faisalabad on Saturday.

Chasing a modest target of 144, Pakistan cruised to 144/3 in just 25.1 overs.

Opener Saim Ayub led the way with an impressive 77 off 70 balls, striking 11 fours and a six to anchor the innings after Fakhar Zaman fell for 0 in the opening over.

Babar Azam contributed 27 off 32 before being run out, while Mohammad Rizwan finished unbeaten on 32 to guide the hosts home with 149 balls to spare. Salman Agha added a brisk 5*.

Earlier, South Africa struggled throughout their innings and were bowled out for 143 in 37.5 overs.

Quinton de Kock top-scored with 53, while Pretorius added 39, but the rest of the batting faltered against Pakistan’s spin attack.

Abrar Ahmed was the standout bowler, claiming 4 for 27, while Mohammad Nawaz and Agha Salman took two wickets each. Shaheen Shah Afridi chipped in with two late strikes to wrap up the innings.

South Africa lost wickets in clusters, collapsing from 72/1 to 143 all out, never recovering momentum on a slow surface.

With this emphatic win, Pakistan secured the series 2–1, showcasing strong bowling disciplines and a confident chase led by their young top order.
