Bangladesh newly appointed batting coach Mohammad Ashraful, who has witnessed Mushfiqur’s journey from the very beginning, described the milestone as a proud moment for the nation’s cricket.
“I was in the dressing room during Mushfiqur’s debut at Lord’s. And, In Sha Allah, I will be present during his 99th and 100th Tests as well. I consider myself very fortunate for that,” Ashraful said.
Highlighting Mushfiqur’s two-decade-long international career, Ashraful emphasized that its foundation lies in strict discipline from fitness to preparation in every aspect.
He noted that this unwavering commitment has made Mushfiqur a role model for the next generation of Bangladesh cricketers.
Ashraful also recalled Mushfiqur’s landmark achievement of becoming Bangladesh’s first-ever double-centurion in Test cricket.
“There is one key reason behind his success discipline. He is the first Bangladeshi cricketer to play 100 Test matches and the country’s first double-centurion. In my personal opinion, those playing now, as well as future cricketers, should look up to Mushfiqur as a role model,” he added.
