West Indies calls up T20I spin specialist for Bangladesh ODIs

West Indies have made a few changes to their ODI squad midway through the Bangladesh tour, ahead of the second match of the three-match ODI series, the visitors have decided to strengthen their spin and pace departments.

In the first ODI at Mirpur, West Indies fielded three spinners, all-rounder Roston Chase, Gudakesh Motie, and Khary Pierre. For the next game, they are set to include experienced left-arm spinner Akeal Hosein in the squad.

The 32-year-old was not part of the original ODI lineup, but team sources have confirmed that he will arrive in Dhaka on Monday night to join the side. In addition, left-arm pacer Ramon Simmonds has earned his maiden ODI call-up.

The 24-year-old pacer has previously represented the West Indies in two T20 internationals. Meanwhile, Jedaiah Blades and Shamar Joseph, who were part of the ODI squad, will return to the Caribbean.

Bangladesh have also made one change earlier in the series, adding in-form left-arm spinner Nasum Ahmed to bolster their spin attack.
