Nepal have created history in Sharjah, clinching their first-ever T20I series victory over a Full Member nation after thrashing West Indies by 90 runs in the second T20I.

With the triumph, Nepal took an unassailable 2–0 lead in the three-match series, making the third game a dead rubber.

Batting first, Nepal posted 173 for 6 in their 20 overs, thanks to a sparkling 68* off 47 balls from wicketkeeper Aasif Sheikh and an explosive 63 from 39 balls by Sundeep Jora.

Their 122-run partnership anchored the innings after early setbacks, as Akeal Hosein (2 for 21) kept the pressure on with the new ball. Quick cameos from Mohammad Aadil Alam (11 off 5) pushed the total beyond 170.

In reply, West Indies collapsed spectacularly, folding for just 83 in 17.1 overs. Medium pacer Mohammad Aadil Alam was the star with the ball, claiming 4 for 24, while Kushal Bhurtel chipped in with 3 for 16.

Captain Akeal Hosein’s men had no answers to Nepal’s disciplined attack, with Jason Holder’s 21 off 15 the only significant resistance.

The emphatic 90-run win handed Nepal not just the series, but also a landmark moment in their cricket history, defeating a two-time T20 World Cup-winning side and sealing a series with one game to spare.

The third and final T20I will be played at the same venue.
