Bangladesh have already bowed out of the ongoing Asia Cup on Thursday as their last match was turned into a virtual semifinal at Dubai, the Tigers showed promise with the ball against Pakistan but a disastrous batting display saw them fall 11 runs short of a modest 136-run chase, missing out on a golden opportunity to reach the final.

However, Litton Das and his men are not returning home just yet. That was pre-planned, as Bangladesh are set to stay back in the UAE for a bilateral series against Afghanistan immediately after the Asia Cup.

The continental tournament will conclude on Sunday (September 28) with the blockbuster clash between arch-rivals India and Pakistan.

Five days later, Bangladesh will take on Afghanistan in a six-match series featuring three T20Is and three ODIs.

The T20I series will begin on October 2 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, followed by the second and third games on October 3 and 5 at the same venue. The ODI series will then shift to Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Zayed Stadium, with matches scheduled for October 8, 11 and 14.

Notably, Bangladesh and Afghanistan were drawn in the same group at this Asia Cup, where the Tigers claimed victory in their head-to-head clash.
