Bangladesh U-19 capped off their Africa tour in emphatic fashion, clinching the tri-nation ODI series title in Harare with a hard-fought 33-run win over South Africa U-19 on Sunday.

The triumph comes hot on the heels of their ODI series victory against the South African youth side earlier in the tour, sealing a memorable overseas campaign for Azizul Hakim’s young Tigers.

Batting first in the final, Bangladesh overcame an early wobble after losing three wickets for just 65 runs. Kalam Siddique (65 off 75 balls, 10 fours) and Rizan Hossain steadied the innings with a superb 117-run fourth-wicket stand.
Kalam fell after his half-century, but Rizan continued his dominance, building another valuable 63-run partnership with Mohammed Abdullah (unbeaten 38 off 29 balls).
Rizan was dismissed agonizingly close to a century, making 95 off 96 deliveries with 10 boundaries. Late contributions from Abdullah and Samiun Basir (13*), lifted Bangladesh to a challenging total of 269/5.

South Africa’s chase began brightly, with the openers adding 59 runs before Al Fahad removed both batsmen in quick succession.

The Proteas tried to rebuild through captain Muhammed Bulbulia (31) and Jason Roles (35), but Rizan struck in his very first spell to break their stand.
Bowling with control and precision, he went on to dismiss Armand Manack (8) and key lower-order batsmen, dismantling South Africa’s hopes. From a position of resistance at 164/6, the hosts crumbled to 236 all out in 48.4 overs.
Rizan’s right-arm medium pace returned match-winning figures of 5/34, earning him the spotlight for a true all-round performance. Al Fahad chipped in with 3 wickets, while Swadhin Islam claimed 2.
