India's Bangladesh tour in August uncertain as BCB, BCCI hold talks
India's Bangladesh tour in August is uncertain
The much-anticipated India tour of Bangladesh, scheduled for August 2025, is facing uncertainty as the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) revealed ongoing discussions with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

The tour was set to include three ODIs and three T20Is, with the itinerary already confirmed by BCB. However, doubts now surround the series as BCCI awaits government clearance and assesses scheduling challenges.

"We're holding discussions with the BCCI," BCB president Aminul Islam Bulbul said during a press briefing on Monday following a six-hour-long board meeting.
"If they can't come in the August window, although our discussions haven't finished, the series will take place in the next available window. Our window is open and we are discussing the August window."

The Indian cricket calendar is currently packed, with several national and developmental teams engaged overseas. Bulbul elaborated on India’s situation:

"Although the series was already decided, they had some concerns as, apart from their national team, some of their other teams went to England. They are currently waiting for their government's decision, as their U-23 team was supposed to go to Sri Lanka, which was postponed. But from the discussions we had, we are still hopeful [of series in August]."
While BCB remains optimistic, a final decision from the BCCI is still pending. Should the August window not materialize, BCB is prepared to reschedule the series at the next available opportunity.
The India series discussion was among several key topics addressed at the 19th meeting of BCB's board of directors, which also confirmed the BPL will take place in the December–January window and announced plans to bring in a sports management agency to oversee the league, along with five-year franchise contracts.
