Pakistan have unveiled a 16-player squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series at home against Bangladesh, marking the beginning of Mike Hesson’s tenure as head coach.

Several senior players have been left out, including former captain Babar Azam, seasoned wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan, and pace ace Shaheen Shah Afridi. Their absence is a notable shift as Pakistan looks to experiment ahead of major tournaments.

Salman Ali Agha will continue to lead the side, with Shadab Khan serving as vice-captain. Familiar faces such as Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf, and Naseem Shah have retained their spots, providing experience alongside fresh inclusions.
The Pakistan Cricket Board confirmed that the selection was primarily based on player performances in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) season, suggesting a form-based approach to the squad composition.

The series, to be held entirely in Lahore, will be Hesson’s first challenge since taking over as head coach. The exact schedule for the T20I series will be announced soon.
