India’s tour of Bangladesh and Asia Cup participation in doubt, says report

India's planned tour of Bangladesh in August and their participation in the Asia Cup are now highly uncertain

Before the Pakistan series, Bangladesh are slated to play two preparatory T20s against the UAE. The team were expected to arrive in Faisalabad in two phases starting May 21. As per the original plan, the first T20I was scheduled for May 25 in Faisalabad. But with the current political unrest, the timely start of the series is now in question.

The geopolitical instability escalated following a recent attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir. India responded with a missile strike on May 7, and Pakistan retaliated the next day with cross-border assaults.

The ongoing conflict has already impacted cricket operations, with the remainder of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) being moved to the UAE.

Geo Super further reported that due to broadcast and logistical challenges, the PSL is expected to resume around May 16 or 17. If the PSL final is held on May 25 or 26, the Bangladesh-Pakistan T20I series may be postponed.

A potential delay or cancellation of the Pakistan tour could also disrupt Bangladesh’s UAE fixtures, which were scheduled as a stopover on the way to Pakistan.
