I and Tamim will have to take extra responsibility- Mahmudullah

Bangladesh T20 skipper Mahmudullah said on Tuesday that he and Tamim Iqbal will have to take extra responsibility in the upcoming tour of Pakistan.

Bangladesh will be missing some of the key members in the series as Shakib al Hasan will be unavailable as he is banned by ICC for failing to report corrupt approaches while leading batsman Mushfiqur Rahim withdrawn him from the tour citing personal reason.

’I and Tamim, we both personally feel that we will have more responsibility. Tamim’s experience will be instrumental in top orders. He is in a very good form and scored in this BPL,’’ said Mahmudullah.

‘’I will try personally to fulfill my responsibilities. The responsibility that I have to stay on the pitch till the end, I will try to do accomplish that,’’ he said.

Mahmudullah urged his teammates that they don’t need to judge their opponents through their ranking rather they should concentrate on their strength.

‘’Ranking says something else. We are nine and they are at one. They have been playing consistently in T20. They way we have played in last couple of series, I have very hopeful that we will be able to play some good matches. I hope, we will try to win the series,’’ said Mahmudullah.

“Pakistan might have played bad in last couple of series but I think they are very strong team in T20 and we will be playing at their home,’’ he said.

‘’They have lost against Sri Lanka in last series and maybe they are concerned about it but we will have to be focus on playing well. I think the players who are in the squad, they are in good touch and if we can utilize and understand this and play our best cricket, we will be able to win,’’ he said.
