Bangladesh skipper Shakib al Hasan recently said that he is not enjoying captaincy due to the level of expectations attached with it while leading the Tigers in the middle.

After losing the only Test match to Afghanistan were talks in media that the leading all-rounder of Bangladesh feels captaincy is affecting his game after he insisted it on two occasions during the Test series.

According to Shakib captaincy is taking a toll on his batting and bowling as it put too much pressure on his personnel performance and he believes he can perform bigger role than without captaining the side.

‘’To be honest, I don't always enjoy but it's not like I don't love it at all,’’ Shakib was quoted during an interview with a TV channel recently adding that it is not the end of the world for him.

‘’I never think captaincy is everything in life,’’

That's why sometimes it feels easy while sometimes it feels tough. When expectations go to that level, it's obvious that things will get difficult,’’ he said pointing out that captain need to perform several jobs at a time.

"In my case especially. I've to bat well then everyone else, I've to bowl well than everyone else, I've to field as well. I've to lift everyone in the team, I've to encourage everyone. So it turns into 5-6 jobs for me,’’ he said.

Shakib added that people of Bangladesh need to patient as they are going through a rebuilding process.

‘’Ever team goes through building process at some stage. Because our domestic tournaments are not as strong as England or Australia, we need time for that process,;’ said Shakib’

‘’BCB was in a tough time, considering everything. And to turn around from there, time is required. Our fans should have that patient,’’ he said.
