Bracewell to captain Lahore Qalandars in GSL, Tait named head coach

Lahore Qalandars have unveiled their squad for the 2026 Global Super League (GSL), with New Zealand all-rounder Michael Bracewell appointed captain and former Australia fast bowler Shaun Tait named head coach for the tournament in Guyana.

The Pakistan Super League franchise will combine international stars with emerging Pakistani talent as they target the GSL title, which runs from July 23 to August 1 at the Guyana National Stadium.

Bangladesh opener Parvez Hossain Emon has also been included in the Qalandars squad after earning an NOC from the Bangladesh Cricket Board. The left-hander, who previously featured for Lahore in the PSL, will rejoin the franchise for the global tournament.

Welcoming Tait, Lahore Qalandars owner and CEO Atif Rana said the former Australian pacer's experience and winning mentality would be invaluable to the team's young players.

Team director Sameen Rana said the squad had been built around Pakistan's future stars, adding that the tournament would provide valuable international exposure and expressing confidence that the team had the quality to win the title.

Lahore will open their campaign against Perth Scorchers on July 23, before facing Desert Vipers (July 24), Guyana Amazon Warriors (July 26) and San Francisco Unicorns (July 29). The final will be played on August 1.
