The Rawalpindiz have been handed a major setback in PSL 11, with star pacer Naseem Shah sidelined due to injury.

In a statement, the franchise confirmed that the right-arm fast bowler picked up a side strain during their recent clash against Karachi Kings and will remain out of action for the time being.

The team’s medical staff are currently keeping a close watch on his recovery, while the management remains hopeful of having him back later in the tournament, depending on his rehabilitation progress and final fitness clearance.

Despite the setback, the franchise reiterated its full backing for the 23-year-old, describing him as an important part of the squad and expressing confidence in his return once fully recovered.

Naseem’s injury comes at a frustrating time, as he had a tough start to the tournament. He went wicketless while conceding 51 runs in the opening game and managed just one wicket in the match against Karachi Kings.
