Islamabad United have parted ways with West Indies pacer Shamar Joseph, just days after signing him for his base price of PKR 11 million at the PSL auction, and are set to bring in Zimbabwe fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani as his replacement.

The decision, understood to be by mutual consent, is awaiting approval from the PSL technical committee, with neither the player nor the franchise expected to issue a public statement.

United, joint-record three-time PSL champions, are strengthening their pace attack, which already includes Mohammad Hasnain, Salman Irshad, Mohammad Wasim Jr., Mir Hamza and Richard Gleeson. Muzarabani, 29, previously featured in the PSL and was part of a title-winning squad in 2021.

He recently returned to form with a Player of the Match performance in Zimbabwe’s T20 World Cup win over Australia, boosting their chances of reaching the Super 8s.

Once confirmed, Muzarabani will join compatriot Sikandar Raza in the league.
