Chattogram Royals produced a dominant all-round performance to hammer Dhaka Capitals by 10 wickets with 44 balls remaining, chasing down a modest target of 123 with ease in their Bangladesh Premier League clash.

After opting to bowl first, the Royals’ bowlers dismantled Dhaka’s batting line-up, before openers Mohammad Naim and Adam Rossington made light work of the chase with an unbeaten opening stand.

Dhaka Capitals never found momentum after being put in to bat. Early strikes from Shoriful Islam set the tone as Saif Hassan and Zubaid Akbari fell cheaply inside the powerplay.

The middle order struggled badly against disciplined bowling, particularly from Tanvir Islam, who delivered a match-defining spell of 3 for 8 in four overs, choking the scoring rate and triggering a collapse. Mahedi Hasan added further pressure with two crucial wickets, while Shoriful finished with 3 for 18.

Only Mohammad Saifuddin showed resistance, scoring a fighting 33 off 25 balls*, supported briefly by Nasir Hossain’s 17. Dhaka were eventually bowled out for 122 in 19.4 overs, a total that always looked below par.

Chattogram’s reply was clinical. Openers Adam Rossington and Mohammad Naim dominated the Dhaka bowlers from the outset, ensuring there were no alarms during the chase.

Rossington played the aggressor’s role, smashing 60 off 36 balls*, including nine fours and two sixes, while also impressing behind the stumps with four stumpings, earning him the Player of the Match award.

At the other end, Naim anchored the innings superbly with a composed 54 off 40 deliveries*, rotating the strike effectively and punishing loose balls.

The pair raced to 123 without loss in just 12.4 overs, sealing a comprehensive victory and boosting Chattogram’s net run rate significantly.
